読売新聞によると、オリコンによる２０１２年、本のベストセラーが発表された。
今年はミリオンセラーがなく、１位でも８０万部弱で、本に関わる者からすれば残念だ。
ベストテンの内訳を見ると、
１位の『寝るだけ！骨盤枕ダイエット』を始め、ダイエット・健康も合わせると６点が健康志向である。
いつまでダイエットすればいいのだろうか。
他に興味は無いのーと寂しい感じがする。
小説では三浦しをん『舟を編む』が７位に入っただけでこちらもさびしい。
これ以外では、２位阿川佐和子『聞く力』、３位渡辺和子『置かれた場所で咲きなさい』、８位近藤麻理恵『人生がときめく片づけの魔法』と人生・啓蒙関連が３点である。
よくよく考えると、ダイエットにしても啓蒙にしても、自分を磨いたり、見つめなおしたりしたい表れである。悩み多き現代社会というべきか、表面だけでも取り繕いたいだけなのかは分からない。
