シェールガスの問題点と輸入開始 ― 2013年03月06日 10時45分
今朝のNHKラジオを聴いていたら、アメリカで注目のシェールガスに関して心配な面があるようで、webで調べてみたら、ずいぶん前から問題になっているのだが、自分はほとんど知らなかったので反省しきりである。
１つは、ガスを抽出する際に薬剤を含んだ水で圧力をかけるのだが、その薬剤が井戸水に混入する問題。
もう１つは、圧力をかけることで地震を誘発していて、M3程度の地震が大幅に増加している問題。
訴訟社会のアメリカのことなので、薬剤の井戸水への混入については訴訟が起きる可能性もあるというか、きっと起こっているのだろう。
地震についてはM3程度であれば、それほど問題もないかもしれないが、より大きな地震に発展しないかは観測し続ける必要がある。
アメリカのこととはいえ、非常に安く入手できるので、天然ガスや原油の高騰にあえでいる日本にとっては、シェールガスの輸入が安く可能になれば、経済にも大きな貢献ができるので、一大関心事だ。
昨日の讀賣新聞にカナダ産のシェールガスの輸入がカナダ政府から認可され、三菱商事が19年にも輸入開始と報道され、アメリカ産も対日輸出が今春にも米政府から認可される見通しのようだ。
すばやく問題にも見通しをつけ、安く日本に輸入できるよう見守っていきたい。
日本でも出ないのかなー？
レアアースは水深５千ｍ以下という恐ろしく深い場所からだが、大量に見つかっている。安く掘り出せる技術を開発すれば商業ベースにも乗るのだろうが、日本はいかんせん何をやっても遅い。
